The problem: leads arrive by phone
For many businesses, an insurance agency among them, the phone is where the sale starts. Someone reads an ad, sees a mailer or finds a listing, and calls. A web form leaves a record of where the visitor came from. A phone call, by default, leaves nothing except a ringing line.
That gap makes marketing hard to judge. A business can spend on search ads, social ads, print and directories, and then be unable to say which of them produced calls. VereTel exists to close that gap. It is a narrow product on purpose: it counts and forwards calls and shows them clearly, for any kind of business.
Set up yourself, with help when you want it
Most call tracking products are large tools with settings for every case. A business that wants three numbers and a clear call list can spend a lot of time configuring something built for a call center.
VereTel keeps the setup short. You create a free account yourself, with no approval and no demo. Once you choose a plan you pick local tracking numbers, which we buy on our own carrier account, label each with its source, and point them at the line you already answer. You do not need a telecom account, new phones or a new phone system. If you want website calls tracked by page, you add one tag to your site and register the pages in your account. If you would rather have help with any of it, ask and we give it. Details are in tracking numbers and number insertion.
Honest about what exists
The most useful thing a small vendor can do is say what is and is not there. So here it is.
A free account is open now. It has your own desk with sample calls, labeled as samples, a test tag for your website and the ROI calculator. Numbers are not on sale yet. Create a free account and ask to be told when they are.
Once you have a number, VereTel provides:
- local tracking numbers, each labeled with its source and forwarded at the carrier to your existing line;
- a desk, with a sign-in for each customer, that lists every call with its time, caller number, tracking number, status and duration, filterable by date and by answered or missed;
- call detail that shows each leg of a call;
- separation of each customer’s data from every other customer’s at the database level.
Every plan also includes number insertion on your website, per site and per page, which you set up in your account, with our help if you ask.
Coming Call recording, transcription and reports are planned. They are not available today, and we are not putting a date on them.
VereTel does not offer text messaging, integrations with other systems, or keyword-level or per-visitor tracking. The features pages describe each capability as it works now.
How we price it
A free account costs nothing and needs no card. It is a free account, not a free trial of calls: it has no VereTel phone number. Paid plans are month to month with no setup fee, and you pay only when you choose a number. Annual prepay gets two months free, on request. We chose predictable plans over metered surprises, and overage is disclosed: $0.06 a minute (within monthly and daily limits that protect your account), and $5for each extra number on Starter and up. The first 10 customers to join by December 31, 2026 keep their plan price for 24 months, and we build their number plan with them; to ask for it, mention it on the Talk to us form. See pricing for the plans.
What we will keep doing
Three commitments follow from the above. We describe features only when they work. We mark planned features as planned and do not promise dates. And we keep the product narrow: call tracking, done carefully, before anything wider.
We also try to write the site the way we would want to read it: no invented numbers, no borrowed logos and no claims we cannot back. If a page here says VereTel does something, it does. If you find one that reads otherwise, please tell us through the contact page.
