One number for every source you want to measure

  • Search ads
  • Social ads
  • Direct mail
  • Radio and TV
  • Listings
  • Your website

The problem

Which source made the phone ring?

Businesses pay for calls from Google, Facebook, TikTok, mailers, listings and lead vendors, then send them all to one phone number. When the phone rings, every call looks the same. The budget goes on, and the question never gets answered.

Spend without an answer

Ad platforms report clicks. Your business runs on conversations. Without tracking, the two never meet.

Asking callers doesn’t work

“Where did you hear about us?” gets a guess, if anyone remembers to ask on a busy day.

Missed calls disappear

A caller who hung up before anyone answered leaves no trace, unless every call is logged.

How it works

Three steps, and the first one is free

No new phones and no change to how your team answers. The carrier does the forwarding; your desk keeps the record.

  1. Create a free account

Sign up with your email address and set it up yourself. You get a desk with sample calls, a test tag for your website and the ROI calculator. No card, no demo.

  2. Choose a number when you are ready

Pick a plan and a local number in your area code, one for each source you want to measure, and the line it should ring. Numbers are not on sale yet. Create a free account and ask to be told when they are.

  3. Every call lands in your desk

The carrier forwards each call to the line you already answer. Your desk logs the caller, the time, the number dialed and its source, answered or missed, and how long it lasted.

How VereTel works, in a short video with no sound. The phone numbers and calls in it are invented samples. A text version follows the video.
Text description of the video, scene by scene
  1. Title. The VereTel ribbon mark, a V with a dot, then the title “How VereTel works” and, under it, “Know which marketing makes your phone ring”.
  2. “1. One tracking number per ad source.” Three cards appear one after another: “Search ad” with the number (727) 555-0110, “Social ad” with (727) 555-0121 and “Mailer” with (727) 555-0134. A note says: “Local tracking numbers, in the area code you choose.” A label says “Illustration with sample data”.
  3. “2. The carrier forwards the call to your line.” A simple flow runs from “Caller dials the number” to “Phone carrier” to “Your existing line”, which is drawn as a phone that rings. A note says: “Forwarding happens at the phone carrier, not inside our web app.”
  4. “3. Every call is logged in your desk.” A call list fills one row at a time. Its columns are Time, Tracking number with its label, Status and Duration. The sample rows are 10:42 AM, (727) 555-0110, Search ad · Spring offer, answered, 14:08; 10:31 AM, (727) 555-0121, Social ad · New customers, answered, 9:51; 10:17 AM, (727) 555-0110, Search ad · Spring offer, missed, 0:00; and 9:58 AM, (727) 555-0134, Mailer · October, answered, 22:36. A badge says “Illustration with sample data”. A note says: “When it started, the caller’s number, the number dialed, answered or missed, and how long it lasted.”
  5. Closing card, on the dark brand colour with the VereTel logo: “One number per source. Every call shows the number it came in on.” Then “Create a free account. Plans from $19.99 a month. No setup fee. Month to month.” and the address veretel.com/get-started.

Built on two decisions

Simple where it matters

Forwarding happens at the carrier, not in our app

Each tracking number is set to forward at the phone carrier itself. Our website and desk receive the call’s record; they are not in the path of the conversation between your caller and your team. How forwarding works.

Each customer’s calls are kept apart in the database

VereTel is built to serve many customers. PostgreSQL row-level security keeps each customer’s calls separate from every other customer’s, enforced by the database on every query. Security at VereTel.

Questions

Common questions

Straight answers, including what VereTel does not do yet. More in the FAQ, or ask us.

What is call tracking?

Call tracking gives each advertising source its own phone number, so every call arrives labeled with where the caller found you. VereTel forwards those numbers to the line you already answer and logs each call in your desk.

What kind of business is VereTel for?

Any business that advertises to make the phone ring: local services, professional practices, insurance agencies, call teams and others. If your customers call before they buy, the question is the same: which marketing produced the call?

Is it free?

Creating an account is free: you need an email address, not a card. A free account has sample calls in your desk, a test tag for your website and the ROI calculator. You pay only when you choose a phone number.

Can I sign up online?

Yes. Create a free account with your email address and set it up yourself, with no approval and no demo. It takes minutes, and we help if you ask.

Do I need a demo?

No. A demo is optional. If you would rather talk first, book one or use the Talk to us form.

Do I need to change my phone system?

No. Tracking numbers forward to the line you already answer. Your main number, phones and team stay the same.

Does VereTel record or transcribe calls?

Not yet. Call recording, transcription and reports are coming. Today VereTel logs each call’s details: time, caller, the number dialed, the outcome and the duration.

How much does it cost?

A free account costs nothing. Paid plans start at $19.99 a month for 1 number and 250 forwarded minutes, and you pay only when you choose a number. There is no setup fee and plans are month to month. Numbers are not on sale yet. Create a free account and ask to be told when they are.
